We work with many different publishers from all over the world, working alongside the various departments within those companies, to produce high quality pop-up and novelty books.   Our expertise is paper engineering - together with the knowledge and experience of the print and production process.  We understand the constraints within publishing: costs; timing; co-editions; sales dummy requirements; publication dates; etc.

We have original and creative ideas and can do as little or as much as a publisher’s title requires - we have created brand new novelty books from existing titles and have also created novelty versions of existing titles.

Published Books

Chick, by Ed Vere, a bright colourful story for the very young.  Winner of the Best Pre School book category of the Booktrust Early Years Award 2009.

Alive, for DK, which sold over 200,000 copies all over the world and features a pop-up skull and and the sound of a beating heart.

The Wide-Mouthed Frog, by Iain Smyth and Michael Terrry, which we helped create in three months for Bloomsbury Children’s Books

We helped create the pop-up version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake for Puffin Books.  First, we broke the story down into ten sections that could each be represented on a separate spread, then we went on to paper engineer and create the pop-up scenes, and finally we liaised with the design and production teams to ensure the artwork and die-lines were correct before the book went to print.

We did the same with The Snowman by Raymond Briggs, Harry and the Dinosaurs by Ian Whybrow and Adrian Reynolds and Angelina Ballerina by Katherine Holabird and Helen Craig.

Some of the many publishers we have worked with:

This is the final spread from ‘Angelina Ballerina’s Pop-Up and Play Musical Theatre’, showing the pop-up stage and rising curtain, complete with twirling Angelina and a sound chip playing ‘The Waltz of the Flowers’.

We provided the concept and story line for this book, which was then produced using existing artwork with some new additions. It was published by Puffin and has many co-editions around the world.
